What Does Your Favourite Canteen Snack Say About You?

Imagine rushing to the commons after a long, tiring morning lesson, and now you want to rest and get your favourite snack. The moment you reach the canteen, the familiar scent of "chocolate açma" and "sütlü çekirdek" causes your stomach to ring joyfully. But here is the fun part: It is true when they say, "You are what you eat." That snack you are craving like crazy isn't just a snack; it is a reflection of your personality!

Yes, believe it or not, what you grab from the Commons Canteen tells a lot about who you are. Whether you're the type who always goes for practicality, comfort, chaos, or pure ambition, your go-to snack has been silently exposing you this whole time. Let's take a look at what these canteen classics reveal.

Grilled Cheese Toast:

If your go-to snack from the canteen is grilled cheese, you can consider yourself a classic. You love to have a nutritious meal that opens your mind before classes. You may sometimes prefer to spice up your snack with sucuk, but in the end, you always get full with the most pleasure you can achieve from a piece of bread. You're not flashy, and you are not trying to prove anything. You just know what you like, and you stand by it. And honestly? That makes you one of the safest, most trusted energy sources in the Commons.

Döner Wrap:

If your go-to snack is döner wrap, you are spontaneous and live on impulse. Everyone knows you because you are incapable of walking into the Commons without greeting 20 people. You are a social butterfly, and you are proud of it. Whether with chicken or cheddar, you love devouring this delicacy of the commons as you accompany your meal with lemonade. Teachers can never predict you, and your friends never want to lose you. The Commons somehow feels even louder when you arrive.

Eti Lifalif:

When you arrive at the canteen and the first thing you see behind the glass is Eti Lifalif, you are most likely the "almond mom" of your friend group. You lean towards what is good for your body, and you definitely encourage your friends to do the same. You participate in some type of sports activity, but you don't want this to be an excuse to eat junk food.

Chocolate Açma:

If chocolate açma is your favorite snack, you are either a dreamer, or you act like you are the main character of a coming-of-age movie. You are kind to everyone, and you carry a sweetness that matches the tiny streak of chocolate hidden in the giant açma. You bring a gentle sort of magic to the commons, the kind that makes people smile without knowing why.

Eti Form:

Eti form in hand, you sit in the Commons like it is your own observation deck. You don't need to move around to know everything that's happening and hear every word spoken by another person. Your posture is perfect, and you carry your attitude with pride. You and your group of friends probably rush to the Commons to sit together on the sofas. After all, the Commons doesn't feel complete until your group claims its territory.

Kaşarlı Simit:

You can consider yourself one of the holders of the Robert College spirit. This tradition, when matched up with sütlü çekirdek, is the key snack for RC students. Choosing kaşarlı simit means you value comfort, familiarity, and the student rituals that make RC feel like home.

Quark:

Fun fact: Many people eat quark thinking that it is a common fruit yogurt, but it is actually a mixture of milk and cheese yeast. "When flavored with blueberries or strawberries, it becomes the ultimate 'I am trying to be healthy but also enjoy life'" snack, as RC '27 Yaprak puts it. You are the type who reads the nutrition label out of curiosity and somehow always convinces others to try a spoonful even when they look unsure. You bring a slightly eccentric calmness to the Commons, and you're proud to be yourself.

Commons Vending Machine:

You are the definition of pure improvisation. If you rely on the vending machine for your daily snack, you've accepted that life is unpredictable. Sometimes it provides, sometimes it rejects your card–and you're fine with both. You operate on vibes, not on plans. You're always in a rush, always "two minutes before class," and always grabbing whatever drops first. People never know what to expect from you. One day it's Lipton ice tea and Eti Karam Gurme, the other day it is Eti Burçak and caramel coffee. You don't choose the vending machine; it chooses you!

At the end of the day, the Commons is a micro-universe where every snack tells something about your character. Whatever your snack says, one thing is clear: The Commons wouldn't be the same without you.
