Travelling In Time: The Retro Ball

Full of bangers, neon lights, and one-of-a-kind fashion, the '80s and '90s seemed almost too good to be true. It was the era of Walkmans, cassettes, and boomboxes, where everything felt far more colorful and bright, and the music even louder.
Watching movies such as The Breakfast Club, Clueless, Ten Things I Hate About You and Back to The Future, I've always wanted to experience what it would be like as a teenager in the eighties and nineties where I'd– just like they did in movies–go out with friends, dance the night away, swap mixtapes, and wear such fun clothing all with no digital distractions.
Many people, including myself, have long wished to experience a day in the 80s and 90s firsthand. This wish of ours, however, never seemed possible, as we couldn't travel back in time. The Student Council, however, without a time machine, managed to take us back to the 80s and 90s by bringing back the Retro Ball, a themed school event that hadn't been done in a while. The Retro Ball took place on November 3rd in the Maze, and the atmosphere was amazing, to say the least. Almost everyone was in theme, the energy was incredible, and the night was truly fun. The event ran for three hours, and it truly felt like we had set foot into the '80s and '90s.
To make the experience even more enjoyable, the Student Council has always been creative with the way they have implemented their themes. In previous balls, they sold cookies for students to send to their friends, loved ones, or crushes along with tiny notes. This time, they went all in on the theme, letting students send real cassettes to one another. This way, students who received a cassette got to have a unique keepsake of the Retro Ball and experienced what it is like to attend a school party in the '80s and '90s.
Working tirelessly to organize such an event, ordering food and beverages, setting up the Maze, and much more, the Student Council really outdid themselves with the organization of this event. Overall, with the decorations that fit in with the theme, fun music, and great atmosphere, the Retro Ball lived up to its name and expectations.
